Is there an excess on the insurance? • Answer: Yes, the renter is responsible for a maximum of 500 EUR of damage sustained to bodywork, and wing mirrors. If the accident is not your fault and if the claims form is filled in correctly and signed in agreement by the other driver then this excess value can be claimed back. Tyres, wheels, windows, locks, roof, underside, interior, lost or damaged keys, willful damage or damage through negligence is the responsibility of the driver in full. N.B. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a very serious offence in Spain and is considered negligent. Traffic fines, speeding tickets and towing charges incurred through improper use are the responsibility of the driver.
What is the minimum driver's age? • Answer: You have to be a minimum of 25 years old and have held a full driving licence for at least 2 years. There is a maximum age limit of 70.
Can I have an extra driver? • Answer: Yes as long as they fit within the age criteria, have a current valid license and the required documentation. Extra drivers are charged at 10€ per hire period.
What documents do I need? •
If you hold a UK license please bring your licence card, your passport and your DVLA code. Due to licencing changes in the UK the paper counterpart is no longer valid therefor you must obtain a code from the DVLA website. If you are unsure about this please contact us and we can talk you through the procedure.
If you have a Spanish licence please bring your licence and your residencia.
If you have an International driving licence please bring your license and your photo ID for your country of residence.
If you hold any other license please contact us and we will advise you. Please note if you hold a UK or European driving licence with NO valid expiry date, which means the old fashioned paper version in either green or folded pink and has no photo on it, then you have until 19th January 2015 to either exchange it in within your original country of residence or change to a Spanish license at Trafico. How much do they cost? • Answer: Yes we do baby seats and boosters are available for all vehicles. Roof Racks, and iPod connectors are only available for certain vehicles. Please check availability at time of booking.
Does the car come with a full tank of fuel? • Answer: Yes, normally the car will be full and should be returned the same.
